Hostas are my favorite greenery plants. The leaves are all shaped pretty much the same, but the colors and patterns and textures are many.
When making the leaf impression, I pressed down too hard which resulted in the clay cracking as it dried. But I thought, if a torn or holey leaf can continue to feed the plant, then a cracked plate should be able to do the same for its person. I repaired the crack as well as I could, expecting the plate to fall apart in the kiln, but it survived both firings. It’s flawed but can still fulfill its purpose…like many of us. ?
